Group Therapy

Betsy Atkins, LCSW, RPT provides social skills groups based on the need of current individuals participating in therapy. Group therapy sessions are typically provided during the school year to support and guide children through social situations. Group cohorts are structured by age.

Social skills worked on in the group setting may include but are not limited to:
Internet safety, positive communication, managing boredom, flexible thinking, exploring peer pressure, bullying, respecting the opinion of others, positive self awareness, mindfulness, how to give and receive compliments, sportsmanship, Coping skills, Confidence, Self Esteem, Addressing Peer Conflict and/or Arguments, Self-awareness, Body space awareness, social distancing,  Masking emotions “what are you hiding”, Accepting responsibility, apologizing, Gratitude and giving thanks and Building Trust in Relationships with Honesty.
